Cloud synchronization of your personal library

Version dated 29 October 2026 · 2026-10-29 · Download PDF

01. What the service provides

iBouquiniste provides cloud synchronization of your personal library between devices and access through the app and browser. Files are kept on the server solely to support these synchronization functions. Paying for a plan increases the server space available for synchronized files; it does not purchase a backup or archival storage service.

The server copy should not be your only copy of a book. Keep your originals and independent backups outside iBouquiniste. The service does not promise indefinite retention, unconditional preservation of files, uninterrupted availability or guaranteed recovery of lost data.

We take reasonable measures to operate and protect the service. This description of its purpose does not remove our duty to properly provide paid services or any liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

02. Your files and resynchronization

Only upload files you are entitled to store and use. Rights in your books remain with their respective owners. You authorize us to store, technically process and transfer uploaded files as necessary to provide your synchronization. The service does not sell ebooks or grant rights to other people’s works.

If a server copy is lost, you can upload or synchronize the book again from a device that still holds its complete file, within your current plan limits. A cover, library entry or reading position does not mean a device holds the full file. Re-uploading may require action on your part; automatic recovery is not promised.

If no complete file remains on any of your devices or in your own backup, recovery through iBouquiniste is not guaranteed. Bookmarks, notes and reading positions are not a backup of the book text either.

03. Subscription and cancellation

The web plan provides 50 GB (50,000,000,000 bytes) of server space for synchronization for USD 0.99 per month. Ebooks are not included. The subscription is available when ordering is enabled on the Payment page. Paid access starts after payment confirmation.

The first and subsequent monthly charges are USD 0.99. Flitt shows the payment schedule and its end date before payment. Charges continue until you cancel renewal or that schedule ends. Your bank may apply its own exchange rate and fees. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s secure page.

You can cancel renewal of a web subscription by signing in on the Payment page. Access continues through the period already paid for. Cancelling renewal does not end paid access immediately. If the next period is not paid, including after a failed charge, the additional features end when the paid period expires. App-store purchases are managed through the relevant store.

04. When the subscription ends: the first 50 books

For an account on the 50-book free plan, downloads from the cloud may be restricted to the first 50 books remaining in its cloud library after the paid period ends. Starting with book 51, downloading to a device may be unavailable even while the server file is still retained. Temporary retention does not entitle you to downloads beyond the free allowance.

“First” refers to the order in which books were added to the account’s cloud library, from earlier to later; sorting by title or author does not change that order. If you delete one of the first 50 books from the cloud library itself, the next remaining book enters the accessible 50, provided its file still exists. Removing only a local copy from a device does not free a place in this cloud list.

For example, if 60 books remain in the cloud, the first 50 are available to download. Deleting book 10 from the cloud brings the former book 51 into the first 50. This is not a count of download attempts: an eligible book may be downloaded to several of your own devices.

Subscription expiry does not itself delete files already downloaded to your devices. New uploads are subject to the free plan limits. Renewing a subscription expands access to server files that still exist, within the paid allowance; paying does not restore files that have already been deleted or lost.

Older accounts and other purchased plans may have different allowances shown for the account. This agreement does not by itself reduce a previously granted different allowance to 50 books.

05. Retention beyond the free allowance

The end of a paid period does not trigger immediate deletion of all books. Copies beyond the free allowance may temporarily remain on the server to support a possible resumption of synchronization. After the subscription ends, however, we do not guarantee their preservation, availability or any minimum retention period.

We may delete these excess server copies when necessary to free resources, protect security or comply with the law. This is not a permanent archive for an unpaid library. For planned cleanup, we will try to give advance notice and a reasonable opportunity to save files where technically and legally possible; an incident or urgent threat may prevent advance notice.

Keep the originals you need on your devices or in an independent backup before the paid period ends. Separate deletion of your account and data at your request is described on the account deletion page.

06. Outages, data loss and responsibility

Server incidents, disk damage, software faults, power or network failures, fire, natural disasters and other events can make server copies temporarily unavailable or cause their loss. This risk applies to both paid and free accounts. The service is intended for synchronization, so keeping your own originals remains necessary.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for loss of a server copy caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control if reasonable measures could not have prevented it and we properly performed our duties. The disappearance of a server copy does not itself breach a promise of backup storage: we do not provide that service. If a complete file remains on another device, the book can be uploaded again.

Not every technical failure automatically qualifies as force majeure. We take reasonable measures to limit its effects and restore synchronization, but do not promise to recover every lost file. Responsibility depends on the cause, our actions and mandatory legal requirements.

Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence or other cases in which exclusion is prohibited by law. The agreement does not remove your right to go to court, receive a statutory refund or use other mandatory remedies.

07. Support and refunds

If it is established that, for reasons for which we are responsible, we materially failed to provide the paid synchronization service, we will, on request, refund the fee for the last paid monthly period to which the failure relates. This may include loss of the server database or storage that prevented the promised service from being properly provided. The basis for this refund is inadequate service, not the absence of a backup copy of a book by itself.

This contractual refund is for users with an active paid monthly web subscription at the time of the failure. Its amount is the fee actually paid to us for one such month; repeated claims concerning the same event do not increase it. Free use does not include this contractual monetary compensation because no fee was paid.

Only to the extent that applicable law permits this limitation, aggregate contractual liability for one event is limited to that one-month fee. This limit does not apply to statutory refunds, damages or other claims that may not lawfully be limited, including the cases listed in the responsibility section. It is not a waiver of the user’s legal rights.

Cancelling renewal and requesting a refund are different actions. To report an incorrect charge, a problem with the service or withdrawal from the contract, email support@ibouquiniste.com with your account, payment date and a description of the problem. We will consider available technical records and information from the user; mandatory rules about the burden of proof are unchanged. Do not send your password, full card number or CVV.

Where the statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract under Georgian law applies, you may withdraw without giving a reason within 14 calendar days of entering into the contract. A clear email is sufficient. Asking for synchronization to start immediately after payment does not by itself waive mandatory consumer rights. Refunds and their amount are governed by applicable law; additional mandatory rights in your country remain unaffected.

08. Acceptance and changes

You can read and save the agreement before registering a cloud account in Android and before ordering a web subscription. You accept it by selecting a separate checkbox in the relevant form. Acceptance during free registration does not create a subscription or authorize charges. Consent to monthly payments is requested separately when ordering a subscription. The Payment page summarizes the main terms; access and retention limitations are described above.

This version applies when accepted and does not retroactively remove previously agreed rights. Material changes to terms or prices resulting from changes to the service, costs or law will be notified in advance, with the option to cancel future renewal. Terms for a period already paid for will not be worsened retroactively, except for changes required by law.

The Russian and English versions describe the same terms. Mandatory user rights prevail over any conflicting provision. Data processing is described in the Android privacy policy and the policy for other versions.
